What is a mini split?
Mini-splits are heating and cooling systems that allow you to control the temperatures in individual rooms or spaces. With two main components, an outdoor compressor/condenser and an indoor air-handling unit, they are easy to install. They make great systems for whole home or new constructions and are excellent retrofit options for homes without duct work, such as hot water systems, radiant panels, and space heaters (wood, kerosene, propane). They can also be a good choice for room additions and energy efficient new homes with space constraints.
Enjoy some peace in quiet while you relax in your cool home. Thanks to the two component design, the noisy elements like the compressor and motor are located outside the home. These systems are up to 60dB(A) quieter than your standard central air unit.
One of the primary benefits of a mini split the ability to control the temperature for a singular room or zone. Pay to heat or cool the areas you want using zone specific thermostats, rather than an entire house. You can have up to eight individual indoor air handlers connected to a single outdoor unit. This allows you total control in determining up to eight zones throughout your home based on personal need and use. In addition, mini-splits require little to no duct work to disperse the treated air. They forego the energy loss associated with heating and cooling this duct work which can be up to 30% energy consumption for a standard central air system. Fujitsu offers some of the world’s most efficient mini split systems, which are 2x more efficient than the government standard.
When considering the installation on mini splits in your home or business, there are a few options to consider including ceiling cassette, wall mounted, floor mounted, or slim duct.
